STEEP PCDEFIBRILLATOR APPEALPlease help save a life…
According to the British Heart Foundation, every year there are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK. Without immediate intervention with a defibrillator, most are fatal. For maximum benefit a defibrillator needs to be within four minutes’ brisk walking (two minutes there, two back). At the moment, Steep has defibrillators accessible 24/7 only at the village hall, Bedales and the tennis club. These are of little use to residents in other parts of the parish. Steep PC have raised several thousands of pounds thanks to kind benefactors and grant donors, to purchase a further seven defibrillators for locations across the parish. These will be placed at Steep and Stroud churches, The Harrow, Ashford Farm, Oakhurst Farm, The Cricketers and Nine Acres. The hosts are kindly covering electrical charges and will act as guardians for regular checks. Maintenance costs will be covered by the parish council. We now need your help to raise a final £1,000 for installation. Please give generously and help save a life! Donations can be made to: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/steep-parish-defibrilator-project (NB just one ‘l’ in the link), or direct to the PC.
