Steep Village Info Hub

All There is to Know About Steep.

If you can’t find it, let us know and we’ll add it

New Site

This is the redesigned “Steep Village” website.  It’s taken a while as it’s been done  after client work.  It is designed for residents, visitors and anyone with an interest in the village of Steep and its surroundings.  The basic structure is there, but more content will follow – we may even include letters/comments in due course.  Of course if there is something we have wrong or you want added, just ask and we’ll do what we can.

The site has migrated to a modern Content Management System for easier updating and management. The old site has been moved and is available by clicking on this image if you after historical documentation, though we do not guarantee it is accurate or will stay live forever.

Elsewhere, we plan to replicate adverts in the newsletter booklet.  Whilst we have added one Newsletter’s worth, there will be many local businesses that are not yet added. Any business, event, place diary date can have a “free” entry, though if you  premium adverts are available at minimum cost.  Three levels of “membership” Bronze, Silver and Gold from £5 – £10 per month and 12 months for the price of 10. You get more details and greater prominence as you go up the levels. Press the button below for details:

Steep D-Day 80 Celebrations and Steep Club's 20th Birthday

Residents of Steep and its environs, turned out to commemorate D-Day 80 with a BBQ, generously supported by a small grant from our EHDC Councillor Nick Drew and provided by Jorge, owner of The Courtyard Bistro.

After a short speech by Russell Oppenheimer, out Hants CC councillor and with at familial connections to the man of the film, we had a special screening of Saving Private Ryan, perhaps the most iconic D-Day movie of our times.

Attendees contributed to a collection for the RBL and the Film CLub donated all box office takings to the Royal British Legion.  We won’t know the final tally until the RBL bucket is counted.
